This position assists the Queen Conch Lab team with care and maintenance of the milk conch breeding population and the milk conch used for pearl seeding. This position also assists with the operation of the milk conch systems including testing water quality and following a check list. This position will also be involved in assisting with the running of the Mobile Lab. Additional tasks will include assistance with the sea vegetable studies, data collection, and general cleaning and organizing of the projects.

This was a research and development role primarily experimenting and testing cathodic electrodeposition coating formulas in conjunction with a chemist.My responsibilities included cooking polymers and reacting them in glass reactors up to 12 liters and monitoring/controlling the reactions. After the reaction was finished, I analyzed the product using a variety of methods including panel testing, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, pH, conductivity, particle size, and more.Additionally, I participated in an annual reactor safety audit as a member of the audit team where we reviewed diagrams in an industry standard Process Hazard Analysis. We also inspected the operational reactors for compliance towards the company's strict regulatory standards to ensure optimal safety and quality.Safe handling, using proper technique and PPE, of hazardous materials including strong acids, amines, epoxy resins, industrial solvents, and solids such as BPA.

As a production operator my responsibilities included following specific processes without deviation to manufacture intermediate stage materials for the production of various paints and coatings.Manufactured solvent-based coatings for OEM automotive applications. This included operating various equipment such as: large meter stations, dual diaphragm air pumps, ceiling hoists and lifts, and forklifts/transporters. Maintained sharp mental processing when working around various hazardous materials including highly flammable solvents, metal pastes and powders.

Installed and maintained various residential split-system and package units throughout the Treasure Coast of FL. Installation involved the removal of existing units by evacuating refrigerant lines, running new copper line-sets, replacing high-voltage whips from disconnect boxes, and installing mostly condensing units outside. Additionally, I installed flex duct-work in attics and underneath mobile homes.Maintenance involved checking operational R-22 and R-410A units for correct refrigerant levels, checking for correct voltage to the unit, and the correct amperages for fan motors, run capacitors and external heat strips.
