As the Energy Manager, my key duties included overseeing the energy management program for the US business and leading sustainability efforts related to Scope 1 and 2 emissions. I was responsible for all utilities cost planning, developing the first GHG emissions inventory management plan for Lidl US, executing GHG accounting, procuring renewable energy and third-party supply agreements, analyzing energy data to identify opportunities for energy savings, and developing long-term strategy related to decarbonization and energy efficiency.

Researched and contributed to a policy report of recent energy policy changes in Illinois and Michigan, including the creation of Zero Emissions Credits (ZECs) and the Solar For All program in Illinois, to a higher Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) and charging the Michigan Public Service Commission to develop an appropriate net metering tariff.
