About Dylan Maggs
I am a Senior Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management student at Penn State seeking a 2024 internship in sports management and operations. Please contact me at djm7415@psu.edu. I grew up in Lock Haven, a small town in central Pennsylvania. It was in this small town where I gained my love for sports. Whether it was playing baseball or basketball or attending PSU football games I was hooked. My love of sports has made me want to pursue a career in the field, and although I don't have the abilities to perform on the field, I have the ability to help off the field. I am majoring in RPTM so I gain the necessary knowledge in not only sports, but in management too. I also am minoring in Sport Studies. My RPTM 101 class has helped me develop a professional portfolio. It also has served as a good introduction on what is in like working in the sports and management field as a whole. RPTM 210 has showed me the skills needed to run a business and to help make a business successful. While working at Walmart I was able to gain experience on how to manage people and how to make sure a team works together effectively to achieve an overall goal. I am also a member of sports business club, which has showed me a vast majority of different careers in the sports world, and what steps I can take to try to get a job. Some other clubs that I am apart of are Sports Analytics and Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society.
