After graduation of highschool, I jumped right into a job on the railroads, where I learned some invaluable life lessons and, most importantly, developed a strong work ethic. I managed to save enough money to purchase my first truck while juggling part-time work and college. After graduating from Mohawk, I explored various electrical careers, including renewable energy and commercial electrician roles, before ultimately finding my niche in the elevator industry. I had always dreamed of launching my own construction service company but was unsure of how to begin. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit and I was laid off from the elevator union, I took the initiative to seek out my own opportunities through Kijiji and Marketplace. I started renting heavy equipment and moving dirt in my small town, marking the beginning of MXC Excavating.
