Aptera Chassis Team: Brake Systems Lead

Applying my degree in Mechanical Engineering in the exciting field of Aerospace. As a Project Engineer for RBC Turbine Components, I'm tasked with developing FAA approved proprietary repairs and researching new processes to maintain jet turbine engines. Utilizing an analysis lab, a CNC and manual machine shop, and robotic plasma spray cell, we tackle projects on both the OEM and MRO sides of the business.Design Engineering: - Researching and developing new processes, materials, and techniques to maintain commercial and military jet turbine engines. - Developing engineering proposals for evaluation and approval by the Federal Aviation Administration- Communicating with team members and customers to negotiate and adhere to project needs including strict budget requirements Manufacturing Engineering: - Managing and training a team of 10 technicians on 6 different aerospace components (first articles)- Creating detailed routings, instructional diagrams, and quality standard documents - Applying the techniques of the 5S organizational system to continuously reduce production time- Designing tooling to aid in the efficiency of intricate, tight tolerance assemblies

 Learning, through hands on testing and design, about various automotive systems.  Creation of manufactured parts using mills, lathes, and sheet metal water-jet. Applying mechanical engineering calculations and techniques to optimize performance.

Engineering Design Project August 2018-Decmber 2018 Exercised an iterative design approach with a group of six fellow engineering students.  Accomplished evolving designs and components on strict deadlines. Gained experience working under a project manager, operating within a $250 budget and reporting progress and setbacks.

 Designing gyroplane safety fuel shut-off system which acts immediately before the event of crash Exercised an iterative design approach with a group of three fellow engineering students  Worked fluidly with evolving designs as we adapted to changes in the PRA’s project requirements  Experience with biweekly progress reports and engineering change orders
