I contributed to a variety of new projects at JSonar related to managing complex networks of resources and permissions on AWS.

Affinity Bridge is a software development company that creates websites and applications for clients that want to make the world a better place. I took a leadership role on a variety of systems that combine Django server code with front-end web applications that work offline and across many devices.

JSonar is a software company which builds a database system compatible with MongoDB, and optimized for data warehousing. I integrated parts of the project with Ubuntu and RedHat Enterprise Linux, wrote a variety of performance-tuned data management tools, and implemented the organization’s original test and build infrastructure on AWS. In addition, I managed several small projects, administered Linux systems, and mentored coworkers about software development tools and techniques.

I worked to create a new break timer application for the GNOME desktop environment. The application provides friendly, trouble-free break reminders to encourage healthy computer use.

I supported the implementation of new website content for a 2013 redesign of https://www.vancity.com. I worked on QA for the new website’s functionality, design and layout, and I finalized hundreds of pages. Throughout the project I advocated clean code and best practices for the web.

I worked as a web developer with the creative services team. I contributed my technical expertise to several websites and pages for different campaigns, as well as a variety of behind-the-scenes challenges, such as implementing localization for an online survey and keeping track of its responses.

I worked with the Ubuntu organization on a project titled “Harvest user interface improvements.” Harvest was a web service developed at https://launchpad.net/harvest. Its goal was to present opportunities for people to begin contributing to Ubuntu. My project resulted in a brand new user interface that was more responsive and easier to navigate.
