When starting my career journey, I was heading straight for the medical field. Being someone who grew up around medical professionals, I knew helping people was the road I wanted to go down. This led me to getting my Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences so that I could pursue a career in optometry. After spending some time working the front desk and performing tests on patients, I realized that while I enjoyed helping people, optometry was not the career for me. That front desk work led me to find cybersecurity, a path where my desire to help people is fully met. I'm currently attending FullStack Academy cybersecurity program where I am learning the industry and preparing for the Network+ certificate. Everyday I am practicing and studying the skills required to excel in cybersecurity. The academy will finish up in February and then I will be ready to accept a job, hopefully some sort of SOC or Cybersecurity Analyst, soon after. I will continue studying until I take my Network+ certificate in July and then transition to studying for the A+ certificate. Having these essential certificates are such an exciting prospect to be training for.Proficient: Command Line, Virtual Machines, Scripting, Linux, Microsoft OfficeKnowledgeable: Bash, Windows Server, Splunk, SpanishCertifications: CompTIA Security+ (In Progress- Expected: July 2025)
