So far in my young career I have been involved in various roles within sport. I have complete my HND in sport coaching and development at Edinburgh college and learned valuable skills that would transferable to other professional areas. This also gave me a solid foundation for a deeper understanding of sport and athlete needs and how we can adapt to improve performance. Upon graduating from Edinburgh college I attended Abertay University to study BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science which further improved my wealth of knowledge in sport. I complete my first internship here as I was assigned to Dundee FC’s Academy and complete physiological testing, data recording and also had my first introduction to the psychological aspect of sport in a practical setting. This internship was incredibly valuable and taught me a lot about what areas of sport I wanted to enchant my knowledge further in and also gave great insight to how a multidisciplinary team can operate to achieve success. After this I completed my masters degree (MSc Psychology of Sport), where I gained specialised skills to help me on my path to becoming a full time sport psychologist. On this course I was assigned to Cumbernauld Football Club as a sport psychologist intern and this was an incredible experience. This was the most independent experience I had been apart of as I was supervised by one of the tutors, however we were given a lot of independence in how we approached each session and this showed with how much I improved as the weeks went on. As of now I am currently still at Cumbernauld Colts FC, where I am still learning as trainee sport psychologist dealing with the first team, delivering psychological skills workshops and helping support the first team however I can this season.
