Led a diverse team on the rail package of BHP’s South Flank Major Project and MAC Single Line Upgrade Study Project. Portfolio of work exceeded AU$150M and responsibilities included management of risk and safety, and control of scope, cost, schedule, and quality. Working across the Project Portfolio experience includes:- Conducting condition assessments of existing track against code of practice and track specifications- Produce project business cases and funding, developing study scope, conducting studies, and presenting upgrade options and concept design for stakeholder approval- Developing risk assessments, project tollgating documentation, designs, schedules, bill of materials, project execution plans, contracts and procurement strategy, and budgets- Engaging and managing service contractors, conducting design reviews, procuring materials, scheduling, obtaining permit approvals and formal management of change approval, and reviewing technical registers during project delivery- Conducting as built assessments, preparing formal punchlists, operational use certificates and facilities handover notices to allow operational readiness and master data updatesProjects include:- MAC Single Line Upgrade (2018-2019): Study is exploring track, signals, and civil options to support BHP’s new South Flank mine which will deliver increased tonnage to port.- Flashbutt Yard Upgrade (2018): Upgrade life expired track assets by ensuring compliance to current specification and ONRSR requirements to satisfy revised operating requirements- Track Asset Renewal (2017-2018): Upgrading life expired track assets to improve rail supply chain capacity including plainline, level crossings, LOHS and TMM workshop track, and ballasted bridges- Switch Upgrades (2016-2018): Removing speed restrictions, improve track compliance to current specifications and unlocking additional supply chain capacity - Nelson Point Yard Upgrade (2016-2017): Derailment prevention and track and signal asset rationalisation to align with updated operating principles

Recruited to work on BHPBIO Longer Trains Infrastructure Project in the Rail Engineering Department based in Port Hedland. Project delivered track layout changes, including civil works and signalling Infrastructure upgrades to provide sufficient clearance for longer rake trains. Worked on Rail Replacement Project to install over 400km of new rail across the BHPBIO network. Project included management of three Track Contractors working across multiple fronts and widespread removal of AT welds. Responsible for track and civil packages including:- Materials procurement, - Budget and schedule tracking, - Scope development - Condition assessments against Track Code of Practice - Scope and contractor management, - Design reviews- Technical Registers and ITPs, RFIs, TQs, RFQs, QA/QC, - Survey and as-builts, - Obtaining Permits, - Environmental approvals, - Stakeholder engagement, - Shut down planning, - Risk assessments

Worked within the track team for BHP Billiton's iron ore CSG where I gained experience in rail engineering. My role was based around condition monitoring of the track which afforded me the opportunity to leave the office and gain a hands-on experience.
