My first taste of life in America, working as a server in the Rowes Wharf Sea Grille with the breakfast and lunch team. Not a typical J1 summer starting at 6am five days a week to open and set the restaurant. Nonetheless, it was an incredible experience working on a team of 70+, with 15 languages between everyone. We exceeded Forbes 5-star standards when audited twice during the hotels busiest period. I won a 'Star of The Week' award and was in contention to be the employee of the month when my name was mentioned in a number of guest reviews. I didn't win in the end, but it was great to be recognized as a top performer as I put a lot of effort in and always pride myself on providing excellent service.

Tasked with training new staff, I displayed my willingness to insure new team members felt comfortable and happy with their new responsibilities.

Hotel Internship in the Food & Beverage Department and Guest Services Department. Throughout this experience I developed interpersonal skills enabling me to connect with guests and my team. From serving food in the restaurant to coordinating the completion of check-ins/check-outs and chauffeuring guests in my top class vehicle (a golf buggy), I demonstrated the ability of quickly adapting to a new role and completing tasks in a professional manner while having fun.
