The Rocket Propulsion Laboratory at USC is a student-led club focused on designing, developing, and testing technologies in composites, propulsion, aviation systems, recovery systems, and simulations in order to produce and launch rockets into and out of the Earth's atmosphere. I joined this club during my freshman year, and I'm currently contributing as a member of the composites, recovery, and media teams.-Aftershock II, 2024 space shot vehicle launched past the Karman line with successful recovery deployment.-Successfully integrated recovery system for Aftershock II on the day of launch, leading to parachute deployment and vehicle flight footage.-Thermal protection system manufacturing with Nomex honeycomb packed with an epoxy/cork mixture, for Aftershock II rocket capable of withstanding hypersonic velocity.- Parachute-seam strengthening through Instron tensile testing for Aftershock II recovery system.- Co-led carbon composite ply-cutting session for fins strengthening for Aftershock II, allowing the vehicle to withstand hypersonic velocity.- Co-head of graphic design, producing launch shirts and Aftershock II graphics for RPL marketing purposes.- Manufactured composite-case motor which achieved max thrust of 4,441 lbf, total impulse of 53,069 lbf-s, and withstood 850 psi. Validated motor to be used for Aftershock II, which successfully launched past the Karman line.In addition to this, I've also had the pleasure to contribute to the archiving and data collection of composites and materials used throughout the years at RPL. With a group of people, we collected and organized these materials on an online archive using Confluence: http://internal.uscrpl.com/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=64423476
