Working with Nestle Waters is my first job experience since graduating from college and has allowed me to further my understanding of the bottled water industry as well as develop my leadership skills. Working here as also given me a better understanding of TPM/lean manufacturing and the tools and standards necessary to improve equipment performance and increase operator engagement.My achievements include:-completing rotations between the various departments that make up the Madison facility and make it successful. These include operations, blowmold/injection, maintenance, warehouse, planning, finance, HR, quality, and focused improvement. -being in the role of a high speed production line resource where I am a leader of 12 operators with an 83.2% monthly asset intensity target-continuing to close the gaps and progressing from TPM Step 2 into Step 3 by achieving 9% monthly unplanned stops (target: 15%), having a 95% adherence to cleaning, inspection, and centerlining standards, and eliminating over 80% of sources of contamination and hard to reach places with an action plan to contain and eventually eliminate the remaining ones-created a method for operators to autonomously update machine center visual loss maps in order to speak to the greatest losses of their equipment and come up with an action plan to reduce them-taught and coached operators about the different problem solving methodologies used to help determine root causes-coached and developed operators to begin leading and taking actions in the daily operations review meeting-member of two TPM pillars: Focused Improvement (where I am the problem solving owner) and Autonomous Maintenance

Working with Pepsi Beverages was an opportunity for me to learn more about bottling production techniques and gain further experience in the beverage industry.My achievements included:-the design and roll-out of a scorecard to standardize bottling line machine center package changeover times in order to make it easier to track any extra time used to swap the components of the machine center in order to run the next package size. It will be used to see how this time can be reduced in the future-created several on-boarding checklists for various operator positions within the quality department to ensure new operators were exposed to many of the situations they would face-analyzed bottle and can line downtime data to establish 2017 line efficiency and true efficiency targets

This was my second experience working where I was able to continue to develop my technical and analytical skills. It was in the area of the plant responsible for taking ethylene and turning it into either high density or low density polyethylene.My achievements included:-the completion of unit mass balances for the high density polyethylene synthesis and finishing units-developed a method to track fouling by calculating the overall heat transfer coefficient in about 30 heat exchangers that were prone to fouling due to cooling water running on the tubeside of them. This project was completed before I had any education on heat transfer and involved learning about it during my time with the company.-developed new benchmark rates for various products whose production rates are limited by the temperature of the cooling water entering the reactor cooler-created a method to test for carbon monoxide and oxygen in gas fired catalyst activators-determined 2015 benchmark and sustainable rates for both high and low density products

This was my first experience working in an industrial setting where I was able to apply some classroom learning to the real world. I was in the area of the plant that was responsible for taking natural gas and turning it into ethylene.My achievements included:-Completed the calculation of the maximum amount of fluid (liquid and/or vapor) that could be held by over 300 vessels including drums, surge tanks, distillation columns, and heat exchangers-Evaluated failure position of a quality critical control valve using P&IDs to trace out what equipment was being affected both upstream and downstream-Was able to start on the initial design of a steam station that would allow operators safer access to steam on the upper levels of the furnaces during winter-Went through process of installing several new updated level indicators on steam drums in order to comply with ASME standards
