University of Pittsburgh 2024 graduate pursuing a Bachelor of Science in marketing, and a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy. I also minor in Italian and have a certificate in international business. In the Spring semester of my junior year, I had the amazing opportunity to spend a semester abroad in Florence, where I did an internship with Scarpelli Mosaici. I was personally in charge of marketing communications, in which I helped to increase customer engagement by creating new content for social media, as well as writing the company newsletter to be sent out to subscribers. I also conducted intimate interviews in Italian with the artists of the workshop for a new promotional campaign regarding the role that the five senses play in the creation of the commesso fiorentino artwork. It was truly a very rewarding and eye-opening experience. Given that my boss was the only employee in the company that spoke English, my fluency in the Italian language helped me quickly adapt to the position and environment, allowing me to easily work with all staff in the office, bridging the language gap.I never realized how much I would learn about myself on this experience, traveling to internationally by myself for the first time and adapting to a brand-new culture. I also learned that I’m not afraid to take risks, accept new challenges, and explore a whole new world all on my own. The self-confidence and cultural intelligence that I learned along the way will be invaluable to my future employers. Of course, the trip also included delicious food, wine, and gelato!I am interested in job opportunities that would allow me to leverage both my analytical capabilities and my creative, diverse perspective in order to generate innovative business solutions.
