I am a South African and British passport holder with roots in Zimbabwe and Malawi. With the African soils embedded in my upbringing, it was inevitable that a passion for Agriculture and a commitment to its sustainable practices would ensue. After earning my A levels in 2014, I pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economic Analysis and Management at Stellenbosch University, achieving academic excellence with a Golden Key Award.I undertook a research project in Malawi through Stellenbosch University, funded by the Centre for Agricultural Transformation, focusing on diversifying smallholder farmers' livelihoods. This experience led to the completion of my Master's degree in Agricultural Economics.Time to get stuck into some practical stuff! As the General Manager of a 300-hectare tobacco and macadamia estate, I oversaw all operations, gaining valuable insights into large-scale agricultural management. This led me to a new position as a Senior Sales Agronomist for an agricultural supply company in Malawi, marketing the company's products nationwide and providing essential extension services.The exposure to the more agronomic side of agriculture sparked a desire to promote soil health - after all, soil is the backbone of our food security! I am passionate about sustainable agriculture and have transitioned into a role as a Soil Nutritionist, representing a company with patented reacted carbon technology. In this capacity, I currently find myself running around the Western Cape in South Africa and also in Malawi, implementing innovative soil nutrition solutions for enhanced crop yields.
