I worked for the news website arm of the China Daily newspaper, the largest English language newspaper. The job included a variety of writing, copy editing, studio interviews and presenting audio and video news. I worked as a communications consultant for the Centre for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) which deals with deforestation and climate change; and the affect on people. I was based at the international Headquarters in Bogor, Indonesia.After working for ICLEI I returned to New Zealand for a month to do a speaking tour after a journalism trip I did to Aceh to visit World Vision rebuilding project after the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami.

I did an internship with the Indonesian national television station as part of the ACICIS programme.

I did an internship as a reporter at TVNZ, alternating as a junior reporter and working on the news desk.

I wrote numerous feature articles, with photos, for New Zealand Adventure magazine.
