It is a one of a kind middle school and high school program run by the Granite Ymca with coordination and assistance from the Manchester School District to aid at-risk students. The program mainly focuses on improvement of academics, truancy, and behavior. Each teacher overseas 20-25 students that have been categorized to be at-risk, but show potential and acceptance for growth and development. Through our curriculum we teach life skills three time a week. The life skills cover an array of lessons including teamwork, leadership, healthy relationships, job application, and working with authority. The other two days, we focus on their core class assignments and provide help or clearer understanding as they may not have this opportunity at their residence. This program has demonstrated success through up-to-date yearly statistics. 82% of STAY students improved attendance from the prior school year and 84% improved their GPA from the previous school year.
