  • Link 51 Pallet Racking Sales
Major Accounts Sales Advisor & Business Development
Link 51 Pallet Racking Sales Jan 2010 - Dec 2010
    Dudley
New Business Sales, Processing Quotations (pricing components, design layout).Link 51 produces pallet racking for large warehouse operations. It was my job to make about 20 pro-active calls per day to potential new customers, send out agreed literature and arrange a follow up call if there was a need from them. I also dealt with Major Accounts; these are large customers like Argos, Asda, Morrison's and B&Q who give repeat business with orders for repairs and spares. The process was to obtain the quote , price up the parts, if needed design a layout for the racking so that customer can utilize the space they have as best possible. This was a challenging role and everyday was different which kept it interesting, i ended up bringing in new business quotations anything from 35k to 150k orders.
  • Access To Trade Careers
    Student Advisor / Sales
Access To Trade Careers Jan 2009 - Jan 2010
    Kidderminster
Student advisor for Electrician & plumbing coursesThis was mainly a sales role encouraging potential students to take up a certified course to become a plumber or electrician. My team and I were booked 10 appointments each per day to call potential students after they had enquired on the website or called in for advice. Each call took around 30mins, we had to explain the course and how it worked to the student, encourage them of what work and salary they can expect while training and when qualified, take them through a finance application with Barclays for the student loan to cover the course, if successful and depending on the type of finance we were paid commission for each enrolled student on top of a good salary. Advent Computer Training & Access to Trade Careers went into liquidation in January 2010 after Barclays Bank stopped all students funding for private courses.
  • Jobsworth / Reliant Recruitment
    Recruitment Consultant, Business Development Manager
    Jobsworth / Reliant Recruitment Jan 2006 - Dec 2008
This role was mainly dealing with driver recruitment to supply haulage firms with temporary drivers ranging from Van, 7.5tonne, class 2 & class 1 HGV.My daily duties involved making cold sales calls to potential new clients, interviewing drivers and checking they are entitled to drive legally in the UK. I also ran the driver plan which holds all the daily and weekly bookings, there was an on-call service that we supplied as drivers were out at all times of the day and night and was a legal obligation, plus a lot of new business came from out of hours. In this role I managed to secure 38 new supply contracts worth over £1.2m for the year, I broke branch records after supplying 66 drivers in one day and covered 55 shifts in one weekend for 3663.This role taught me how harsh sales can be and moulded me for the future with a tough backbone.
  • British Gas / Npower - Temp Contracts
    Beyond Economical Repair Advisor
    British Gas / Npower - Temp Contracts Jan 2001 - Jan 2004
This role was 2 separate temp positions through Pertemps, BER (Beyond Economical Repair) was to advise customers under a BG cover contract what they were entitled to if they had a breakdown with their cooker/washing machine/microwave, it was a kind of new for old insurance cover. The Parts department dealt with customers who will have their appliance repaired rather than replaced, my role was to rotate a 3 day basket of jobs that cycled every 3 days till the part needed to repair the job was available for the engineer to go out and complete the repair, keeping the customer informed at all times every 3 days the part was out of stock.NPower - MBA (Major Billing Accounts)In this role I looked after the E-Billing for Major Customers like Argos & Boots. I had to devise a format in excel using sum formulas and VB C++, downloading consumption and usage information from 4 databases for every Boots and Argos store's electricity use, compile all the info into one massive 35,000 celled spreadsheet, this process that I formulated was called FORMAT 1 which I also wrote and instruction manual for other staff to learn the process if need be.Both were temp contracts that came to an end but gave me unrivalled experience in a main servicing role.
