My duties include:- Analyze and manage customer backlog and coordinate cross FLIR teams to maximize revenue.- Support the General Manager by providing analytics to assist in the forecasting of revenue.- Maintain 95% on time delivery with >4x per year inventory turns for security products.- Develop US manufacturing sourcing strategy for CBU in collaboration with supply chain leads across CBU.- Own the supplier relationship with US internal and external product manufacturing sites.- Establish and improve all planning and inventory management processes- Establish and improve all build to order processes at FLIR facilities- Identify and deliver cost reductions across US manufacturing sites.- Organize and manage the set up of new product manufacturing processes- Implement techniques, technologies, processes and systems for new products to minimize product & capital costs, and optimize quality, capacity and output flexibility. - Take a lead role in project team to ensure that products are designed and developed in line with established DFM and design for cost strategies and most appropriate production techniques are adopted.- Provide input into manufacturing strategy decisions including location and make vs buy.- Apply process knowledge and production expertise to reduce cost, cycle time and drive efficiencies through the supply chain.- Lead and facilitate Lean initiatives within CBU supply chain.

I began as a Systems and Applications Engineer balancing between technical lead for internal development and customer facing business challenges. I transitioned to focusing only on System Engineering in July of 2017.Responsibilities included:• Definition, and implementation of complex system requirements for Electro-Optical (EO) systems and sub-systems • Coordinate design of subsystems and integration of thermal imaging systems • Analyze and predict system performance for imaging systems• Provide data analysis and feedback for research and development of interdisciplinary teams • Integration and testing of imaging EO systems • Generate and maintain internal system level specifications, input/output processes, working parameters for hardware/software compatibility, test and validation plans• Create external technical documentation, including application notes, troubleshooting guides, and product documentation based on customer needs• Modeling and Simulation of EO systems• Prepare studies of system errors and initiate corrective actions • Onsite technical expertise to bring products and systems on-line• Provide training for thermal imaging products• Collection of technical requirements for new products or product features• Work with manufacturing to ensure smooth operation and execution into production• Identify, analyze and resolve group deficiencies.

Mission-critical project for a local company to improve product development processes. Responsible to interview employees and conduct postmortem of past implementation, collect and analyze data for existing methods, and present optimized techniques to reduce variability of cycle time and project costs.Recommendations to senior management included Lean Product Development methods optimizing work flow, processes, metrics, project management tools, and implementation plans.

I enjoyed working in Phil Lubin's lab on the Cosmic Foreground Explorer which was a multi-year project culminating in my senior thesis for my BS in Physics. The lab was where the rubber met the road as I was working on the calibration and cryogenic cooling systems for the bolometer arrays. I enjoyed putting what I learned in the classroom to use while building out new skills sets leading groups and solving complex technical hurdles.
