I supported the Energy manager in the delivery of an effective and efficient energy management service across the Council’s Estate. My duties during this experience included:• Manging the introduction of pilot projects to help the council save money on energy. • Analysing and interpreting energy and water bills/usage using excel spreadsheets and electronic meter readings to help the council maintain energy savings.• Assessing the council’s carbon emissions to produce a carbon budget for the council’s carbon management plan. • Development and management of energy monitoring and management techniques to produce regular key performance information reports to council stakeholders.

I was a part of the Widening Participation Unit (WPU) within Queen’s University which involved helping key stage 5 students with the development of their Maths in order to help them to achieve their GSCE in Maths.

As this was a small company, I worked closely with the site manager and as a result I gained good experience in engineering and production management. Skills and experience gained during my time here include;• Experience managing production schedules. • Taking customer orders, answering customer queries and providing technical support.• Managing deliveries and ensuring a quality product is supplied on time.• Proficiency using Sage. • Ability to create a BOM for products and product pricing.• Completed Solid works 3D Training (Solid Solutions).• Attained a Forklift License (PFI Training)

As a Technical Operative at SDC, my main duty was to implement and administrate preventative maintenance software (PEMAC) allowing for effective and efficient management of time, resources, and productivity of the maintenance department. My other duties included;• Reviewal and analysis of data using KPI’s on excel. • Daily QDIP meetings ensured a good level of quality control.• Use of Six Sigma. • Monthly stocktakes.• Meeting work deadlines, attending meetings and prioritizing work tasks.

I completed a 4 month placement as a Junior Manufacturing Engineer at Terex Finlay. As part of a project with Terex and South West Regional College, I was involved in helping to create and improve standard work files (build manuals) for some of the quarry machinery on the factory floor (i.e. I-100 Impact Crusher). The build manuals included photos, information on the part used (part numbers), 3D CAD drawings and instructions. These were then used to help guide the workers with clear instructions and photos on how to build the quarry machinery.
