I prefer to think of it as constantly researching new and alternative approaches to potential problems. How IT and programming knowledge helps improve or understand financial applications. How knowledge of photography and lighting can help with marketing and events. How understanding body mechanics can improve our ability to read people and improve our communication with them. It’s also just fun to practice and research the various things that interest us. I started in residential construction when I was 13. My first day on the job everyone started kicking and smashing the drywall. I cut it and pulled it off in two large sections. It seemed like the logical thing to do. While I have no problem diving head first into a problem, I prefer to do so with an intelligent and efficient solution.
