About Dylan Schaefer
Passionate about clinical trial study start-up, with a particular focus on developing novel psychedelic trials for treatment-resistant psychiatric disorders. As the regulatory research coordinator for the Supportive & Palliative Care department at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, I've been responsible for guiding the development of a psychedelic research team. In this role I've collaboratively written two clinical trial protocols for psilocybin, drafted and submitted our first NIH R21 grant, guided the regulatory submission processes, and reported monthly progress updates to the department. I'm thrilled by this line of research and the engaging complexity of regulatory clinical trial start-up. Prior to my role in psychedelic research, I worked as a regulatory research coordinator for the Early Phase department at Roswell Park, with an emphasis on pharmaceutical sponsor collaborations for Phase 1/2 oncology trials. Within this role, I was given creative freedom to optimize departmental processes, and was made a member of the Clinical Research Services Optimization Committee. With administrative support, I reinvented our regulatory binder tracking system, and digitalized our safety reporting process -reducing monthly workload from 8+ hours to a couple streamlined minutes.In parallel, I'm pursing a masters in Pharmaceutical Investigations for Psychoactive Substances at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
