Optical Field Engineer
Current• Conducted comprehensive fiber optic characterization (FOC) to validate fiber provider handover data and identify any fiber issues, utilizing advanced analysis techniques such as bidirectional traces, reflections, chromatic dispersion (CD), polarization mode dispersion (PMD), attenuation profile (AP), and loss. Remediated site fiber issues to minimize span loss, ensuring optimal network performance and customer satisfaction.• Successfully built, turned up, and tested multi-vendor metro and long-haul optical networks, as well as proof of concept networks, in a lab environment utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as DWDM, ROADM, and SONET. Contributed to the successful deployment of customer optical networks throughout the country in both data center and rural hut environments.• Led a training initiative to educate incoming Associate Field Engineers on various technologies and field practices, effectively increasing team capabilities and knowledge. Provided onsite training for customers, delivering comprehensive and valuable insights.• Produced comprehensive documentation including As-Builts, rack diagrams, network diagrams, and Method of Procedures (MOPs), utilizing Microsoft programs such as Visio, Excel, and Word. Ensured timely and accurate delivery of documentation, contributing to the overall success of projects.
