Through the last ten or so years I've gone through a few full time jobs to support myself and my family while pursuing a private business and because of this I have picked up several skills along the way. Unfortunately, the vast majority of skills that I have obtained are not documented for the simple fact that I do more volunteer work (and don't get paid) than anything else. As you may have already guessed, this has led to countless rejections from jobs that I would have otherwise excelled at given the opportunity. I'm not perfect, I'll go ahead and get that out of the way. I am deeply flawed as are 99.99999% of the people on this planet, but, when it comes to just about any job, I'm smarter and faster than whoever else you have in the slip ready to run. I find that the problem may lie with my self presentation. I'm an awkward person. One of the drawbacks of not being socially conditioned growing up. But I refuse to trade my talents and skills for a little social acceptance and I think that may be where I'm falling short. Will I change it? No. Do I wish there were a way around it? Absolutely. Maybe this "Facebook of jobs" will help with that.
