Acted as lead author on a study discovering eutrophic effects of algae blooms due to nutrient abundance in small water systems in Northeast Wisconsin. Conclusions showed depletion of bioavailable oxygen in presence of algae blooms and observable increases after physical removal of algae from a water system. Microbial diversity was shown to improve in the system when algae was removed via reactive oxygen species that were introduced in the system. Presented at National Collegiate Undergraduate Research (NCUR) Spring 2023. Presented at UWO Spark Symposium & WiSYS symposium Summer 2023.
