As the Owner and Managing Director of WCTNZ for the past 16 years, I have dedicated my career to bringing alternative wastewater solutions to the masses and improving public infrastructure in this field.Starting from the ground up, I built WCTNZ - a leading company that enhanced the composting toilet industry in New Zealand. WCTNZ improved the public's perception of composting toilets and brought them into the 21st century, encouraging evolution of the technology in the marketplace. As a result, I have worked with councils, consulted government agencies (including DOC and MBIE) and international NGOs on alternative wastewater solutions. I have also supported various iwis (indigenous Maori people of NZ) in their pursuit of environmental goals and desire to protect the land.My journey began in Northland, where I grew up swimming in native rivers, underneath beautiful waterfalls, and developed a deep connection to nature. Growing up in a family of engineers, my mind was geared to design innovation, creativity and problem solving from an early age. These two factors combined, inspired me to seek sustainable technological solutions that would benefit the lives of mankind.I started out as Lead Hand in Production and Development at an environmental water potification company operating in the space of agribusiness. My role was to manufacture livestock water quality technology and implement it on-site.I then moved into building, specializing in bathrooms, where I developed an appreciation for modern hygiene and came to see sanitary facilities as a basic human right.During this time, I continued my environmental endeavours with a deep dive into permacultural science whilst living in a community of permaculturalists.Eventually, I stumbled across dry toilets and found this technology so exciting that I made it my mission to catapult it into the now. WCTNZ was born, and has continued to grow ever since.I have a "no problem is too big" mindset and love to problem solve through innovation and creativity. When it comes to projects, I am very detail oriented, but am also a strategist who always has the bigger picture in mind.My goal is to improve the global market of dry toilet solutions and make it sustainable both environmentally and economically for the benefit of man.Reach out if you're interested in sustainable wastewater solutions. I am happy to offer advice on environmental projects wherever dry toilet infrastructure is critical - from traditional societies and developing nations to large scale eco developments.
