Thursdays in Black VUW is a student-ledgrassroots organisation aimed at preventing sexual violence and supporting victim/survivors of sexual violence.My responsibilities have included engaging in club administration and communication (responding to emails, social media messages, posting on our social media channels), corresponding and collaborating with other anti-sexual violence groups and organisations around Welington, chairing regular club meetings, and representing the club throughout the university (e.g., attending Student Assembly and Student Equity and Diversity committee meetings) as well as in monthly hui as part of the Pōneke Prevention Practitioners Network.I have been responsible for strategic planning, furthering in-person and online engagement through the creation, and supporting the rollout of, novel initiatives, future, impact, and opportunity, focused, passionately driven to support survivors, advocate and educate for changes for a future free from violence, especially sexual violence. Responsible for recruitment, researching opportunities and relevant collaborative projects. Advising council, educators, general public, and institutions, allowing them to continue development and implementation of resources.

Executive member and part of the Engagement Team for the Wellington Branch of the nation wide Thursdays in Black movement, combatting sexual harm and violence.Tēnei te huri ao tūkino kore, ki te ao pāwhera kore. Towards a world without rape and violence.

Working with students of different age groups and year levels both one-on-one and in small groups; following a programme prepared in collaboration with a teacher. Helping teachers plan lessons and activities for students with special needs and aiding in extra activities such as physical exercise. I have experience working with children who have special needs in a variety of different settings, utilising skills and knowledge of teaching methods and learning styles to foster child learning and development; implementing behaviour management techniques and ensuring the safety and well-being of children during emergencies by adhering to established policies and procedures.I have also completed a course called "Supporting ākonga with Autism Spectrum Disorder", where I learned more about the ASD spectrum, including practical strategies to support students with ASD.

-Provide a welcoming and integrated quality customer service experience tailored to the needs and requirements of each customer.-Maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of all our products and processes to support an exceptional customer service experience.-Provide high quality advice at the frontline, including advice on the admission and enrolments process and first year course selection (available from published sources).-Identify potential issues or trends that require further investigation and work collaboratively with the relevant business unit for resolution.-Enquiry and case management into the student administration management systems (Banner and CRM).-Processing of student administration applications, forms and letters for example: course add/drop forms, StudyLink Limited Full Time Study forms, completion letters, Academic Transcripts.-Assisy with the distribution of student items including student ID cards, transport concession stickers and graduation certificates.-Effective and efficient monitoring of the physical resources and space for location specific service delivery.-Effectively gather and assess information, as required, to ensure that complaints, issues and concerns involving students are referred to the appropriate escalation point in a timely manner.-Collect, define and maintain knowledge from across the university and record it in the knowledge base in accordance with agreed procedures.-Contribute to the smooth operation of the Student Service Centres by working rostered duties between the front-facing Info Ihonui and the back office contact centre.-Ensures the prompt reporting at all Health & Safety hazards and or incidents and the timely completion of hazard review reports and develop staff commitment to, and participation in, Health and Safety practices in the workplace.

The Bubble is a wellbeing space on the Kelburn campus where Wellbeing Leaders provide peer support and referral to student services, as a part of Manawa Ora Student Wellbeing. Wellbeing leaders provide formal and informal activities to help promote social connectedness, engagement, and healthy and balanced lifestyles. Responsibilities:-Provide peer support-Refer students to other services-Promote social connectedness and engagement Promote healthy and balanced lifestyles-Maintain a space that is inclusive, positive, and socially engaging-Attend training, team meetings, and supervision. -An extra role I picked up was Morning Assistant, where I would ensure the space was set up, Covid cleaned, and performed extra jobs as required.-I also led an equity project where I created a survey to gather data on LGBTQ students' perception of the space; if it felt welcoming and what types of activities they would like to see more of. I created a report and presentation on this and all the work I did, after the data collection was finalized. This was reported to staff across the University.This has opened other opportunities for me, such as becoming the LGBTQ representative for Everton Hall, assisting in the University Open Day 2022, and supporting in events for Manawa Ora Student Wellbeing at VUW and other LGBT events.

My degree and postgraduate study can take me to many places and into many different industries. Areas that I'm interested in are Pharmaceutical production, Food Production, Chemistry in everyday products, and Primary Education. I'm interested in how things work and the entire system of operations of different organisations fascinates me. Working at McCain's has given me a good sense of the production line and food processing as well as solidified the importance of communication within the workplace, such as between different plants or co-workers.
