Built out an iOS application called VibeGuru, which is a social-networking application for finding night life around the city. The app tells users when and where parties or other activities are occurring around Atlanta and shows which people will be attending and what time they will be going. Users can check in and notify other users if the party or activity is fun, which will notify other people using the app, and parties/activities that are rated fun and engaging will be at the top of people's feed. The app implements stories and other user interaction similar to big-name apps like Instagram and Facebook.
  • Ge Digital
    Devops Developer
    Ge Digital Jun 2018 - Aug 2018
    San Ramon, California, Us
Worked on one of GE Digital's cloud computing teams in Atlanta this past summer. He worked on a DevOps team that was mostly focussed on development. He was tasked with designing a lambda function in GE's AWS environment that could automate the production of Github repositories. These repositories had their own merge restrictions, read and access rights, as well as production and development branches. Dylan was able to complete the assignment and added a UI using JQuery and python to complete the lambda function. The UI was very intuitive and easy to use for non-technical people. He got very familiar with the AWS ecosystem, and is now very experienced with AWS lambda, API Gateway, s3 buckets, and even some DynamoDB.
  • Servicenow
    Servicenow Developer
    Servicenow Aug 2017 - Dec 2017
    Santa Clara, Ca, Us

He has learned to navigate Servicenow's platform as well as write and edit portals, create client-server scripts, resolve incidents, and helps his team located in New Orleans to continue adding in functionality to GE Digital Servicenow. The team practices scrum and agile in order to push user stories from development to production in an efficient and streamlined manner.
  • Ge Digital
    Junior Ios Developer
    Ge Digital Jun 2017 - Aug 2017
    San Ramon, California, Us
Over the summer, Dylan helped his team finish an iOS app that was released to both the GE and Apple app stores. The mobile app, called APM mobile, plugged into the APM (Asset Protection Management) Datacenter, and allowed operators in the field to instantly communicate with analytics teams inside APM. The application also allowed operators to notify the APM teams when a wind turbine part or parts needed to be replaced, or when steam generators or gas turbines needed repairs or if they were overheating. The whole process was streamlined in order to make everything more efficient and expedite repairs by allowing operators to assign repair jobs to people in their phones contacts or GE contacts. The previous process would take weeks to accomplish because before everything was done by email. The application increased the ease of communication between operators and APM teams and because of this, the app sped up the overall process of: getting a notification from APM that a part needs to be replaced, sending an operator out to confirm the issue, and then assigning an operator the to repair the part or to stop heat leaks for different turbines and engines.
  • Ge Power
    Software Developer
    Ge Power Aug 2016 - May 2017
    Schenectady, Ny, Us
Dylan Welch is part of the co-op program at GE Power in Atlanta. He worked on a few projects while at GE Power. The first project, TITAN, is an iOS application built using Ionic and Cordova frameworks, and the application detects heat anomalies in power plants using the FLIR Thermal Camera. The second project was designed to 3D map power plants using drone images and a software called Pix4D to analyze and form 3D models of power plants for inspection and navigational purposes. Using point cloud analytics, Dylan had to design and edit 3D models in order to get the most accurate power plant models possible. He used the point cloud editor in Pix4D that would capture the images and design a 3D model around them by displaying the images on a 3D plane.
