As the lead electronics design engineer and a core member of the product design team my role was incredibly varied. As a R&D Scientist (Chemist) I was primarily responsible for developing speciality silicone rubbers for use in Gas Chromatography (GC) applications (such as GC inlet liners, GC capillary columns etc). Working within the Chromatography research team I developed improved conventional products as well as experimental products as well as validated, and developed quality control procedures.Product Development DutiesMy role involved developing materials and processes to meet specific use case specifications as defined by the chief scientific officer as well as 3rd party groups. Of note was my involvement in the end to end development of the BPX5 capillary column and the inertium GC inlet liner (For which Trajan operated as a OEM).-Determining and expanding on customer specifications as well as extracting detailed use case descriptions to aid in product development-Ascertaining efficient and reliable methods for production as well as determining the material and manpower cost to production-Developing tests to ensure the products met the required specifications-Developing production processes to ensure products met the required specification.-Validation of packaging for products.Technical DutiesAs a Polymer Chemist I was responsible for the development of a number of novel chemical synthesis processes as well as developing the techniques for creating new devices using novel silicone rubber materials. As part of the chemical synthesis process I was also responsible for the detailed characterization of materials and documentation of the synthesis process.-Organic Synthesis primarily of specialty silicone rubbers and high temperature inert coatings-Characterization of materials, both experimental as well as existing materials used in production (as a part of ongoing quality control) -Troubleshooting of existing chemical synthesis processes and modification of said processes when needed

Assisted Clients of varying ages and varying degrees of either intellectual or physical disability in both the home and public settings. Over my time at Yooralla I worked with a number of clients with extreme challenging behaviours as well as many with highly complex medical needs.

Chemistry Demonstrator : Responsible for running and grading the undergraduate first year labs with average class sizes of approximately 10 students, lessons focused on basic chemistry principles and developing good lab skills and techniques.

English Teacher: Responsible for running the English language classes (ages 15-18) with class sizes of around 60 students, lessons focused on spoken and written English.
