Teacher Scientist Program CoordinatorTechnology Access Foundation Feb 2021 - May 2022Seattle, Washington, United StatesWhile working with TAF (Technology Access Foundation) I worked within a division known as TSP (Teacher Scientist Partnership) designing, and teaching Computer Science oriented, in-class courses. These ranged from Front End Web Development to Game Design and Development to Electrical Engineering. I had to design and teach to grade levels ranging from 5th to 12th grade within a classroom setting. Each course was designed to adhere with Learning Standards as so to be used within 2 Middle Schools and during class time.I developed a Game Design and Development course where I educated students on how to create their own 3D Platformer games within Unity. Students learned Level Design, basic Game Theory, Game Mechanics, and Balancing while constructing their own styles. Students used the LEGO Microgame addon for Unity, which gave the students the ability to quickly prototype their games and construct complex traps/obstacles. -
Course DeveloperTechnology Access Foundation May 2020 - Feb 2021Seattle, Washington, United StatesI was requested by TAF, Circle of Friends, and Coding with Kids to develop custom curriculum and courses for their use. I developed several coding courses that were later used to finalize TAF's Web Development courses. I was the sole creator and designer of a 3-year curriculum design used for Circle of Friends for Mental Health. It was originally intended to be used at TAF@Saghalie and was based off the Project Based Learning model used by TAF. The curriculum covered a variety of subject matter ranging from Web Development to Game design. A total of 10 lesson documents with included separate rubric and handout documents were created, a total of about 30 pieces. All at a level of professional quality for use in school districts, the courses were designed to adhere to CSTA (Computer Science Teachers Association) K-12 Computer Science Standards which states that all courses could fulfill a computer science, math, or science graduation credit. -
InstructorCamp Techwise Llc Jul 2020 - Aug 2020Seattle, Washington, United StatesI facilitated and instructed students through self-designed lesson plans working in a multitude of programs and applications. Lessons ranged from Level Design in Unity to Videography to program design in Microsoft Visual Studios. This position required at times complete independence while instructing and without a clear goal set prior to class time. Lesson plans and project goals where designed and upheld by me throughout the courses.I was contracted to help mentor students through the Unity game engine and the Game Design and Development of their games. I taught C# and the fundamentals of crafting your own games. My proudest moment was when I was able to teach a 10yr how to program their game with C#. The first year was in-person where I had about 3 to 8 campers under my care for about 10hrs per day for 5 days. The second year was remote where I was responsible not just for my students but also assisted in several other groups to help maintain or fix technical issues. -
