At the end of my Junior year at Saint Joseph’s University, I completed a dissertation on my intention to write a novel and was awarded membership in the Summer Scholar’s Program. As a member of this program, I was paid by the school to write passages of my novel during the summer of 2018 based on the concepts I presented at the dissertation. I continued working on this novel in the following school year and continued to be paid by the university when I was accepted into the University’s Honors’ Program. The completed novel served as my Senior Honor’s Thesis, and I spent the entirety of my senior year completing my novel while taking a full semester of courses at the university. I completed my novel in April of 2019 and then successfully defended my thesis. In May 2019, I graduated from Saint Joseph’s University cum laude with Honors.

In this program, students would visit Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility weekly. During these weekly visits, students would discuss philosophical ideas and books they have encountered with incarcerated people.
