Hey I’m Dylan Wray! I'm a gamer, educator, sound designer, and an all around professional nerd. I manage the Varsity Esports program for the University of North Texas, which fields 3 official teams that represent the University. We currently field Varsity Teams for League of Legends, Rocket League, and Overwatch. Varsity players get access to two dedicated practice and gaming spaces, tutoring, team meals, and streaming services. I managed student staff, as well as volunteer coaches and casting staff to provide a competitive and learning environment to students who want to be the best they can be. I've also been working in the audio industry for 6 years and have worked in small coffee shops an DJ gigs to running sound for live radio performances of Marcy Playground, Nathaniel Ratliff, and Daniel ate the Sandwich. I've dabbled in music production, creating backgrounds for the popular Star Wars podcast Radio TCX. Yet my real passion is sound design for video games, and competitive gaming. In grad school I worked on my MS in Recording Arts at the University of Colorado Denver. There I've gained a solid proficiency in Pro Tools, Logic, and improved recording techniques. I served as a Core Monitor to supervise the college's lab studios and equipment and assist students with troubleshooting and education about recording arts concepts. My thesis assessed how tolerant we are to unrelated distractions in digital binaural signal processing. The research looked to improve our understanding of audio signal processing for video games and how it can be applied to VR.
