I am a second year Finance and Economics undergrad at the University of Canterbury, with a cumulative GPA of 8.85/9. My academic excellence has been recognised through several prestigious scholarships, including the UC Hiranga Academic Scholarship, the Victoria University of Wellington Kahotea Outstanding Achievement Scholarship, and the University of Auckland Pacific Excellence Scholarship.I have a profound interest in investment banking and a particular fascination in the field of Nuclear Energy, which I aspire to pursue post-studies. I am considering furthering my education with an honors postgraduate qualification in finance and exploring the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) pathway. Leadership is a cornerstone of my personal and professional development. My tenure as Head Prefect of Burnside High School underscores my ability to lead and inspire. My involvement with the One Schools Network in 2022 and subsequently the He Tētēkura Young Leaders Programme at UC in 2023 further highlight my commitment to leadership and community engagement. These experiences have been acknowledged through the UC Horomata Scholarship and the Victoria University of Wellington Raukaraka Scholarship.My interest in global business is complemented by a deep understanding of cultural dynamics. I earned my Cultural Intelligence Certificate through the UC Tūhono Programme in 2023, which led to my current role as an Internationalisation Assistant at UC. I recently ventured to the Paris School of Business, where I developed a sentiment analysis model using natural language processing systems to analyze text and determine sentiment.I am particularly interested in working internationally in the US, China and Europe. This interest is supported by my continued study of Mandarin Chinese outside of my regular courses. My diverse heritage includes Irish, Samoan, and Norwegian roots. I hold dual citizenship with New Zealand and Ireland. Outside the classroom, you will find me playing music in one of my many bands. With a specific focus on jazz music, I have led multiple ensembles to national and international success.I also have a strong affinity for education and mentorship. I mentor drums through my own business, which has recently pivoted to resource outsourcing. I was recognised for my entrepreneurial innovation through the UC Business School Scholarship for Excellence.
