I help develop innovative, persuasive organizing and outreach programs, advise campaign leadership and staff on outreach strategy and execution, and manage key relationships. We're pioneering the use of relationship mapping to identify people with strong networks in targeted precincts, and recruit and engage the most impactful community members as campaign supporters.

As Deputy Campaign Manager, I managed 4 staff members, oversaw the daily operations of the campaign, and led our Field, Communications, Political and Endorsement work. I led the development of new organizing methodology and social technology that targeted voters based on their personal relationships with campaign supporters, and delivered persuasive personal outreach to voters.- Deployed new methodology and social technology for targeting voters who had personal connections to campaign by mapping social networks of volunteers, donors, and supporters; mapped 20,000 relationships between supporters and voters.- Designed and led a field program that delivered more than 7,000 personal contacts from volunteers to targeted voters during the Primary election; our innovative field program delivered more votes than the margin of victory in the Primary, advancing our campaign to the general election.- Designed and led randomized, controlled experiments to determine efficacy of digital organizing toolset; voters contacted by friends were 15-25% more likely to support our candidate than control group. - Launched an Organizers Academy to build a bench of volunteer Organizers, developing core curriculum and recruiting expert instructors. - Managed Field, Data, and Communications staff to set and meet strategic goals. - Successfully developed and managed political, organization, community relationships to win key endorsements. - Led organizing work within the Democratic Party and young progressive community, winning endorsements and support from the King County Young Democrats, Young Democrats of Washington State, and the 43rd, 36th and 46th District Democrats.

I partnered with State Representative Brady Walkinshaw, community organizations, and the Democratic Party to develop a novel organizing model and launch a new organization to build community organizing capacity and bridge the gap between elected officials and voters. - Launched #AffordableSeattle campaign, organized over 150 people to share their stories digitally and in-person with the Seattle City Council in support of successful HALA legislation.- Built website, deployed custom and out-of-the-box digital tools, and engaged hundreds of community members in digital action.- Developed and executed Community Mapping program that charted community power and leadership across 25 issue areas and communities. - Designed and launched a Community Issues survey to determine local issues with greatest organizing potential and recruited volunteers; led team of volunteers that surveyed over 450 voters in Spanish and English, targeting low-income and low-propensity voters.- Developed and led PCO trainings for 43rd District Democrats, recruited dozens of PCOs and volunteers for swing-district races.- Organized Education for Action meetings with leaders in Faith, Progressive Communications, Affordable Housing, and neighborhood groups.- Developed volunteer training curriculum and trained volunteers as community organizers with their own turf, database access, and responsibilities.

As the Field Director for Initiative 594, I developed a field plan that delivered 43,230 Yes votes for I-594, a Ballot Initiative which mandated Universal Background checks on all gun sales in Washington State, and led the team of organizers that successfully executed it.- Designed and executed a statewide volunteer field program which delivered 43,230 Yes votes for Initiative 594, expanded turnout in key legislative districts, completed over 4,000 volunteer shifts, made 1,084,74 phone calls, and knocked on 10,623 doors in our target universe.- Managed a statewide team of 18 field organizers and deputies, including recruiting, hiring and training 14 new team members.- Maximized participation from local and national partner organizations by nurturing strong relationships focused on a common vision. This work led partner organizations to donate four field staff and tap their volunteer networks to make over 22,000 calls to Washington voters.- Led dynamic and best-practice focused training programs to create buy-in and build skills among staff and supporters.- Strategically managed a $300,000 budget to fully fund a program that exceeded all quantitative goals. - Successfully managed major phone and field vendors, integrating a paid canvassing operation that knocked on 80,000 doors and a paid phone program that made 60,000 calls with our statewide volunteer field program at the strategic and tactical level.

As an Organizer at SEIU, I built strong, trusting relationships with service workers from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds, mapped social networks and leadership at dozens of workplaces, and trained workers to lead their coworkers to help win campaigns that brought over 2,000 workers into our union across the country. - Trained and led a 24-person team of organizers in a GOTV blitz that helped turn out 600 union supporters in a successful organizing campaign at Peace Health St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham, WA. - Trained new organizers on the elements of a structured organizing conversation at SEIU's November 2013 WAVE training in Washington, D.C.- Coordinated a campaign that enrolled 200 workers at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA, in a healthcare reimbursement program, exceeding our goal by 1/330%.- Mapped 160 union members' connections to community leaders and institutions in the South Puget Sound region and helped leverage those connections to create more power for our members in bargaining.
