I was a temporary intern from May 20th to June 28th and worked with the traffic operations and transportation planning departments. I worked on writing a program to analyze a spreadsheet of 68,000 crash records of Sarasota County from the Signal 4 database using pandas and sci-kit learn. In transportation planning, my team and I compared the CDMS database to Signal 4 using Excel and found that CDMS contained significantly more records and that Signal 4 had incorrectly geocoded a few crash reports in Sarasota County.
