Got my first work experience at age six selling mangoes to passers by in front of my house in Barbados. Did the rest of my growing up in Toronto. Years later, after managing a popular pool hall in Montreal for half a decade, I decided to give university a try. I moved back to Toronto and after completing an academic bridging program for mature students, somehow finishing at the top of my class, I was accepted to the University of Toronto as an academic scholar. I honestly had no idea what I wanted to study, so I just took as many science courses as I could, hoping something would resonate. One course in cognitive science led me to another in computer programming - which I immediately fell in love with. I spent the next several years studying computer science part time while working to pay my fees full/part time at various jobs including a fun four years performing and overseeing the recertification of Philips consumer entertainment products. I won't lie, completing my studies was a struggle for me; CS is a tough field. But I recently (finally) graduated, receiving a B.Sc. (Hons) degree specializing in Computer Science and am now looking forward to beginning a new career working with software. See you out there. Cheers.
