As a Deaf man, I understand the barriers that the Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and persons with speech difficulty face while communicating on the telephone and in their daily lives. I am the Program Manager for Telecommunications Access Iowa (TAI). TAI is a voucher program for Iowans who are Deaf, hard of hearing, or have speech difficulty to help purchase specialized telecommunications equipment. I hope that we can work together to help find solutions to eliminate barriers.
