I have always been mesmerized by the profound fields of life and environmental sciences. My adventure first initiated in the field of microbiology when I portrayed a “platelet” in a preschool play and then was introduced to penicillin, a natural fungus that serves as an important antibiotic, manufactured as Giant Microbes plush toy. My passion for these sciences further developed into a practical asset at Science Olympiad, a national competition that is dedicated to enthusiasts of sciences. In particular, I was honored to win first place in multiple events regionally and in state. My deep interest in science gradually increased to the point where I now aspire to become a research scientist to discover new medicines from existing environmental resources - just like penicillin - while preserving our beloved environment. I believe there is a synergy for life and our environment that has yet to be explored.
