As a student in the Integrative Biology department at UC Berkeley I have learned to synthesize knowledge from varied fields, apply information to specific scenarios, use critical thinking to arrive to solutions, derive hypotheses and test my predictions.My time at Cal Sports Medicine has strengthened my skills working with patients, physicians, and athletic trainers.Being an EMT, I learned to provide quality care to patients in acute situations and with chronic diseases. I became proficient in BLS procedures and tasks in the pre-hospital setting. As a emergency medical scribe, I have gained clinical experience and learned limited proficiency with H&Ps, laboratory studies, EKGs, X-rays, and procedures. I now co-manage the scribe program at my hospital, which has allowed me to gain experience as an effective communicator, educator, and leader. Some of my major interests include behavioral endocrinology, personalized medicine, growing the role of EMS, and rehabilitation.
