Whilst working for Tianqi Lithium Australia I have had the opportunity to manage the Acid Roast process system, identifying key areas of improvement and implementing solutions. Targeting the main issues of throughput capacity, I have had assistance in getting the Acid Mixing system redesigned and upgraded ready for installation Q3 2023. I have also provided technical assistance within the rest of the Pyro Processing team and acted as Senior Process Engineer. Some of my roles main responsibilities include:• Responsible for improving Acid Roast operation performance via continuous process improvement and aiding capital projects.• Monitoring plant performance, identifying sources of variability and making recommendations for improvement.• Conducting investigations, test work and technical projects to maintain performance or to identify opportunities to exceed targets.• Measure and report process performance.• Accountable for regular production reporting as well as providing production and inventory data for financial reporting.• Prepare process related operating standards and specifications.• Track and analyse non conformance trends.• Perform root-cause analysis investigations.• Maintain production records and manage lot traceability.• Prepare reports and submit to management.• Develop and review area document procedures.• Provide process training and support.

Having been with Cockburn Cement since my graduation I have been able to be exposed to a wide range of opportunities that I have undertaken without hesitation. I have spent multiple years as the Process Engineer for either the Cement or Lime Production teams across the sites in WA. This helped me develop a deep understanding of how the business works, and how to work with multi-disciplined teams while feeding back critical information to the successes of the processes to the business. All this experience has now allowed me to transfer my skills and knowledge into running or managing Capital projects that tie-in with current operations targeting specific process improvements without causing any drops in efficiency to the process. Some of these skills and responsibilities include:• Health, Safety and Environmental management for production processes (Cement and Lime).• Monitoring and improving production processes, ensuring production requirements are met at specified qualities, in the most efficient manner, with minimal waste.• Performing Risk Assessments and/or HAZOPS on Key Strategies, Priorities and Projects• Day to day technical support to the production and maintenance departments.• Optimising plant performance by identifying, justifying, and executing efficiency improvement projects, or process changes. Developing or updating process documentation.• Reviewing plant or process modifications and make recommendations regarding their approval.• Approve, sign off and roll out changes to production teams.• Conducting investigations regarding quality improvement opportunities, participate in Root Cause Analysis for causes in quality variations.• Commissioning Manager for Capital Projects – This includes Process management, Client management, Health, and Safety management.• Production forecasting and Stock Inventory management.• Downtime and Pareto analysis.• Client, customer, or contractor liaison.

JTMEC offered me a position as a Casual Engineering Student at the conclusion of my practicum.
