Worked as a full-on repair technician for all sorts of power equipment and tools from gas to electric, using skills I taught myself in a professional enviroment. This was a great demonstration of my ability to learn quickly and apply self-taught skills in the workplace. I also performed a variety of customer service and support roles, as my employer was quick to recognize my aptitude in this field.

Worked full and part time with an experienced contractor, learning valuable construction and carpentry skills, and the value of a hard days work. Tasks ranged from small engine repair, roofing, painting, renovations, siding, windows, and more!

As the 'CTO' of Muse Magazine, a student run online and print publication over a decade old, I lead a team of student intern developers and designers to manage the website, mobile application, and maintain internal tools for publishing and communication. In my first few months holding the position the website was nominated for the Canadian Online Publishing Award, after extensive work modernizing and securing the publication's neglected web experience that still continues to this day.

As a lifeguard/counselor at CLT's Shadow Lake Centre I was responsible for the adjustment of beach policies to reflect COVID-19 guidelines, and the supervision, first aid, and safety of other staff on the beach. I was in charge of putting on a virtual summer camp experience for adults with intellectual disabilities over Zoom video chat. This involved creating interactive programming, technical support, lots of patience, and learning to overcome any challenges presented by the global pandemic.

As a deck supervisor at the Stouffville pool, I managed a large team of staff during swimming lessons and public swims. I dealt with staff training, customer service, public relations, administrative work, first aid, legal, and safety issues on a daily basis. I had to handle many large emergencies and situations, and by consistently demonstrating my ability to work under pressure I rose to the highest seniority before heading to University. Working with in community recreation throughout high school was incredibly helpful in forming lifelong professional skills at a young age.
