My name is Dylan Mazzola and I am from Bergen County, New Jersey. I am a Luddy student at the University of Indiana majoring in informatics. In high school, I was the president of a student run organization. In my role I was responsible for raising money, organizing hotels and flights, and persuading the kids' parents to trust me enough to leave their kid with me.During my time I was responsible for leading a project with a mission to help support and bring 40 kids from New Jersey to Arizona to cheer on our football team. As a club organization we had to raise enough money to be able to fund 20 hotel rooms and 40 plane tickets. We also had to book hotels and the flights for every kid. Throughout this process I reached out to many alumni of our school and persuaded them for donations. I also organized fundraisers such as a carwash and selling shirts to help with the process. This mission resulted in giving these young kids the experience to do things without the help of their parents and better prepare them for the future of adulthood. From this experience I gained the skills and knowledge in leadership, problem solving, and finance. Gaining these skills at a young age provided me the ability to continue to grow on these skills and helped me get ahead of the game of my future competitors. I’m looking for an opportunity to take these skills and put them into use in a company to help further better and advance the company.
