About Dylan Robichaud
Many kids get asked the question, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” Most throw out careers that sound cool at the time – astronauts, doctors, or even Superman! I was one of the lucky few kids who just knew at a very young age what I was meant to do. From playing “weatherman” and doing imaginary weather broadcasts to “predicting” the next forecast, all while I was learning how to color, I was obsessed with weather. Little did I know that weather would grow into a lifelong passion of mine, and I’m just as fascinated with it as I was when I was a little kid imagining that I was on the green screen. My favorite part about weather is its magnitude – we have zero control over it, but somehow, I need to figure out a way to find the calm in the chaos and figure out the patterns so that I can deliver informative, reliable forecasts. To many, having a job that centers around so much unpredictability can be unnerving – to me, I get excited to get out of bed each day and figure out what Mother Nature is up to for the day! The most rewarding part about my job is not only helping viewers understand everyday forecasts but really being able to break down the science so people can understand what’s happening out there. Massachusetts is my home (go Celtics!), but I currently live in Madison, Wisconsin. Outside of work, I enjoy running, traveling, and exploring downtown Madison. I love connecting with people, whether or not they are directly related to my field.
