I am a class of 2025 pharmacy student pursuing a PharmD degree at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy (UFCOP) in Gainesville, FL. I completed my undergraduate studies at Santa Fe College where I majored in Biological Sciences and graduated with an Associate of Arts in 2020. I decided to pursue a career in pharmacy because I want to be part of a group of healthcare professionals who contribute to improving patients' well-being through their medication expertise.Currently, I work as a Pharmacy Intern at Publix Pharmacy. Through this experience, I have been able to learn more in-depth about community pharmacy and how a pharmacist has such a positive impact on patients. I am also actively involved and hold positions within Phi Delta Chi and the National Community Pharmacy Association. Additionally, I am a part of the Industry Pharmacists Organization and the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy which are allowing me the opportunity to expand my skillset in real-time. Outside of pharmacy school, I love playing golf and going to the gym.Looking into the future, I look forward to progressing in my career as a pharmacist and reaching my ultimate goal of serving the patients in my community. I hope to one day in the future open my own independent pharmacy in my hometown and be that trusted health professional within the community. I also want to continue to gain new skills and knowledge throughout my pharmacy journey that will allow me to be the best pharmacist I can be. With all this being said, I hope to do my part in advancing the field of pharmacy and healthcare as a whole.
