I began working at 6B in March 2021 as the first and only QA. I built up the test department from scratch and put a set of processes in place. Projects in the studio involve working with various platforms and CMS’ such as Wordpress, Shopify and bespoke mobile/web application builds. I test these with the use of tools including; Ghost Inspector, Monsido, SiteImprove and Browserstack.I ensure to keep involved in all stages of a project right from the very start, so I can begin understanding project requirements, provide estimations and start designing and building out tests. Working Agile, I attend project sprint planning, sprint review and sprint retro sessions throughout the project build to keep the team and client updated on progress. I then stay involved right through to post-live/application management, testing any updates once the site is live and ensuring all still functions as expected.I complete various types of testing including: feature, smoke, regression, accessibility, exploratory, SEO, performance, design conformance, data and more. Working closely with all areas of the studio, any bugs or issues found are raised and shared as soon as possible to the relevant team. This is usually with the creation of a ticket in Jira, with clear replication steps, screenshots/screen recordings and an expected outcome. Project reports are also created to keep track of issues, this allows me to ensure the issues are looked at and resolved efficiently and in a timely manner and keep the team updated on progress.

I worked at AYKO as a QA Tester, where I ensured all work in the studio was to the highest, possible standard before going live. This job involved the creation of various test suites both manual and automated, which I used to thoroughly test websites on things such as Upgrades, New Features, Compatibility, New Builds and Full Regression Tests. Working closely with all areas of the studio, any bugs or issues found were raised and shared as soon as possible to the relevant team, with clear replication steps, screenshots/screen recordings and an expected outcome. This allowed the issues to be looked at and resolved efficiently and in a timely manner. Projects in the studio involved working with various CMS’ such as Magento, Wordpress and Shopify.

Throughout my time at Numiko, I had the chance to work in many areas of Web Development including Discovery & Planning, Design, Front-End, Back-End, Content Entry and QA Testing. Whilst learning things on the job at Numiko, I could put the skills learnt at Apprenticeship Training into practice.Key Skills gained:• Design. This included creating Wireframes, Typography/Colours Documents and Layout Designs.• Front-End work. This included developing my knowledge of HTML, CSS, Sass and Gulp, developing sites to ensure they are responsive – following the Mobile-First rule and Ensuring mark-up looked tidy using indentation.• Interacting with the Drupal Interface. This included researching and installing modules to meet project requirements, using several content types and using Taxonomies to categorise content.• QA Testing. This included testing several sites of their Functionality, whether it be Cross-Browser or Cross-Device to ensure the site looked and worked as it should, and giving suggestions on how a problem could be fixed, if one was to arise.• Accomplished Communication Skills. This included sitting in various Back-End, Front-End, Design and General meetings which allowed me to share ideas and give opinions on projects in the company, and talking with Clients to discuss Project Progress.

This job taught me Key Communication Skills. The job involved me talking to clients over the phone, trying to create potential leads for the Business.

I worked here as a Weekend Assistant while I was at college. It taught and developed my skills in Communication, Cash Handling, Problem Solving and Teamwork.
