I will be working as a part-time analyst conducting advanced statistical analyses to explore the relationship between social isolation and dementia risk using international cohort data. This work involves managing and harmonizing large datasets to enable cross-national comparisons and applying methods, such as machine learning and multiverse analysis, to assess the robustness of findings.

I am joining the Pediatric Research Unit at Boston University's Slone Epidemiology Center as a Graduate Research Assistant. I will be contributing to the Today's Baby Program by assisting with participant follow-up, study material development & translation, and qualitative data collection & analysis for the SMARTER/SUPERSONIC & GET SMART studies.

I am working as a research assistant on the Asynchronous Diabetes Virtual Intervention with Storytelling and Empowerment (ADVISE) Program to develop program materials including evaluation materials and animated, educational videos using REDCap Survey Software and Vyond Video Animation Software, respectively.I have independently managed three small cohorts of participants to ensure their completion of the research study and ensure study compensation is received through automated REDCap distribution.

I am working as a Bilingual Research Assistant on the Evaluation of Food Security Scales among Hispanic Parents: A Cognitive Interview and Psychometric Properties Study.Responsibilities include project management & communication, data collection, participant study compensation management, qualitative data analysis, and frequent research team-wide discussions.

This study is conducted under the Foundation for Food & Agricultural Research's (FFAR) funding with a partnership between the UTHealth Cizik School of Nursing and the Houston Food Bank.Conducting interviewer-administered surveys at 10 different food pantries with over 100 participants, in Spanish and English, both over the phone and in-person on the topics of food pantry usage, food insecurity, financial stability, and sociodemographics.Using Microsoft Excel, I am maintaining high volumes of phone calls, emails, and text messages, on a daily basis, keeping contact with participants for related information to the research study, troubleshooting survey compensation, and scheduling appointments for phone interviews.Managing the real-time distribution of survey compensation, gift cards, to study participants with REDCap Software. Contributing to data management and analysis as a continuation and extension of the study.

This study is conducted under the UTHealth Houston Cizik School of Nursing and School of Dentistry to provide high school students at the Jack Yates Senior High School with education in Oral Hygeine and Nutrition Literacy Skills.My role as a Student Mentor includes attending Yates High School to recruit students prior to the program start date, attending and leading the weekly educational classes, and assisting with any administrative work pertaining to the program. As a Back-End Research Assistant, I am responsible for data entry, communicating with students/parents, and upkeep of program tasks.

As a Health Equity Data Intern at the Louisiana Department of Health's Office of Women's Health & Community Health (OWHCH) under the Bureau of Community Partnerships & Equity (LDH BCPHE), I am a member of the Bureau's Health Equity Data Plan Workgroup.Within the Health Equity Data Plan Workgroup, I conduct thorough, comprehensive Maternal & Child Health Data-Related Research on a national scale with the goal of advancing LDH BCPHE's Health Equity Data Plan. Research findings are condensed into presentations, Excel sheets, and various documents for the Bureau's advancement in Data-Driven Health Equity.Also under the OWHCH, I have aided the workgroup in the foundational work behind the Data Dictionary Project. In this project, we are working to develop an interactive webpage where data professionals, policymakers, and the general public can access data, resources, and definitions pertaining to Women's Health Indicators.

As a part of the NIH-Funded SIBS Program, I completed 5 weeks of in-person, training modules in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Infectious Disease Modeling, Clinical Trials, Statistical Genetics, and SAS & RStudio Programming — delivered by outstanding BU faculty.Training modules were accompanied by insightful, inspiring guest speakers from a wide array of fields including Academic, Industry, and Government-related areas. Furthermore, training modules included application of newly learned knowledge through software like PLINK, Linux (i.e., BU Shared Computing Cluster), Berkeley Madonna, ArcMap, SAS (including SAS Methods in Clinical Trials), and RStudio (including ggplot2, tidyverse, SIR Modeling).For the final portion of SIBS, I worked in a team of four students on a research project in Statistical Genetics. The project explored Biological and Neuroimaging Biomarkers and their association to Alzheimer’s Disease Genetic Variants. During the project, we used Genome-Wide Association Analyses, Principal Component Analysis, and Polygenic Risk Score Analyses. All analyses and data cleaning used software like PLINK, SAS, and RStudio.

WISE, a service project within the University of Houston's Bonner Leader Program, aims to fortify 4th & 5th graders' reading and writing skills in preparation for Texas' STAAR Examination. As a mentor in WISE, I work with students biweekly, focusing on basic reading and writing skills. I also am a member of the Events Committee and Data Science Team. Within the Events Committee, I plan social events for both mentors and students, draft and propose event flyers & activities to the executive team, and translate all event-related documents into Spanish. My role on the Data Science Team is to assist the Data & Integrity Executive with data collection and report writing tasks.

ImpACT, a service project within the University of Houston's Bonner Leaders Program, focuses on mentoring Seniors and Juniors at KIPP Sunnyside High School on the ACT Standardized Test and College Admissions Preparation topics. I served in ImpACT as a mentor, where I provided virtual tutoring for the ACT in all four categories (English, Math, Reading, Science) alongside advice on college admissions processes. In addition to live mentoring sessions, I prepared class materials and coordinated with the executive team to ensure effective sessions would be held.
