Transformed a small startup to a leading Southern Hemisphere brand through the use of various multimedia and marketing techniques. These include branding, ecommerce store design, setup and regular analysis and updates. The success of the store has lead to a variety of media appearances including my appearance as a guest on the Unofficial Shopify Podcast.

The DVLA’s personalised registrations website is a large earner for the DVLA, allowing customers to purchase a variety of custom number plates for their vehicles. As the only Government Ecommerce website, it offered a unique opportunity to employ of variety of private sector processes to see a boost in profitability.I was contracted to this project as a frontend developer partly due to my extensive experience in the ecommerce sector, but later pivoted to a UX/UI design role due to internal bottlenecks with the client. This was a great example of my wide skillset being put to use.Frontend development stack of Ruby, ERB templating, Vanilla JS, CSS & SCSS, Webpack, GOV.UK Government Design System, Docker & Git.UX/UI tools and processes included Sketch & Sketch Cloud, Google Analytics, A/B testing, Personas and user journeys, wireframing and prototyping and user testing.

Based in the beautiful Norwegian Fjords, the Norwegian Nature Center (or 'Norsk Natursenter') is one of Norway's leading tourist attractions. I was contracted by Sarner as an interactive developer tasked with the development of 19 applications for interactive displays for the center. These displays would form part of an updated interactive experience across 3 floors of the facility.Each screen focused on a particular aspect of the natural world outside, covering topics such as flora, fauna, history, prehistory and geology, and work was carried out remotely from my base in the UK and on-site in the Fjords. Each app had to be available in 13 languages to cater for the center’s large range of demographics. This was challenging given the amount of content and the ways it was to be displayed, including graphs, maps and infographics. The user experience was designed by an external team before my arrival on the project and often required rethinking from a user experience to work in a modern digital setting. I therefore had to had to use my experience as a UI/UX designer to make alterations where possible while balancing staying as true to the originally agreed design as possible. There were a vast range of interactive screen sizes and types, which each app requiring a different type of interaction from the user. Whilst some apps displayed information via carousels, others employed navigable video tours or interactive wheels and games. Performance was also paramount as the apps had to handle an influx of over 200 visitors at any one time and to be left running without staff intervention day in, day out. SKILLS USED: HTML / CSS. UX/UI design improvement where required, Javascript (Vanilla & jQuery where 3rd party plugins & touch control libraries required). Apps bundled via Electron.
