I am an experienced and capable young law student, looking to use the law to have a positive impact on people’s lives. With an interest in law, politics, and environmentalism, I have worked hard to build a useful set of experiences and skills across a broad range of fields.I am currently in my second year of studying Scots Law at Glasgow Caledonian University. I volunteer at the university's law clinic as the Assistant Manager for Street Law, where I lead a program that gives young people insight into the law and what it’s like to study law at university. I also work as the student representative for the Law and Economics department with the Students' Association.Outside of university, I am a dedicated volunteer with Scouting, where I serve as a Section Lead. In this role, I oversee a team of six volunteers and twenty-five young people. I plan and safely run a variety of activities, including outdoor skills training, camps, and hikes. This role also involves administrative tasks such as grant applications, drafting risk assessments, tracking and ensuring subscription payments, and building positive relationships with parents and carers. At work, I am a Services Assistant for Sainsbury’s, where I have worked for five years across all departments. In addition to my regular duties, I am the site’s Shop Steward. In this role, I regularly support and advise colleagues, accompany them to disciplinary and absence reviews, and drive recruitment of new members in the store. I normally work informally with management to find fair solutions to in-store issues on behalf members. Occasionally, I help members pursue formal actions, such as grievances and appeals.
