MentorInditex Jul 2013 - Jan 2014New York, New YorkMy responsibilities at Zara ( Inditex) were pretty straightforward. I worked with the POS system , and had to deliver the great customer service. In most cases I was the last person the customer would see, so I had to make their final shopping experience enjoyable. I took care of the basics sales and returns and online purchasing. Opening we had to hand count out our drawers. When switching to the next drawer you had to recount the drawers to make sure their wasn't any discrepancies with cash or debit. Closing was a little different because we had to go over the cash for the entire store and view discrepancies for every department. When I wasn't needed behind the register I took it upon myself to help the sales associates with the floor. Working on the floor helped me gain product knowledge and learn the location of the items. I also did a lot of restocking items and working in the stock room when needed. I took on a lot of responsibilities besides ringing up customers. I worked in the flag ship store in New York City on 5th ave, leaving me to deal with tons of tourists. I had to use my Spanish and Portuguese to communicate with a majority of the out -of -towners. Zara was the most fast paced environment I have ever worked in, so it taught me to quick, productive and efficient. -

I begin my KM experience in Tysons Corner Virginia where I worked with a tight knit team of only 4 employees. My main focus was selling and building a clientele. Week after week I noticed I had been building great relationships and hitting high sales goals. I was actually the highest seller in my store, along with being the youngest. Every week I had to fix the visuals in my store, everything had to be perfect. Not only did the store have to be perfect, but so did I. A typical day was pretty slow, but I had to ring up my own sales, and keep on top of my sales goals. When there were no clients, I spent a lot of time working on the new shipment and cleaning store. Every week when we got new shipment I sent out emails to my clients to update them what got. Believe it or not this really worked! Finally they moved me to the Soho store where I got to work with the greatest sellers in the company. This took selling stylist to another level. I was able to train other stylists and upgrade to my clientele book to the New York Elite. An important part of my flagship transition was opening up the Karen Millen store in Bloomingdales on 59th street. This was a huge opportunity to being the first team of stylist to introduce one of the largest retailers in New York to our brand. Not only did I have to continue to learn my brand, but I had to learn brands from every designer housed in our store. Working inside the Bloomingdales franchise opened up great possibilities, because me and my team were the first to open the stores I was given greater responsibilities. These included opening and closing the store along with attending store meetings on behalf of our brand. I had to keep track of why were doing great or poorly. Along with which stylists were improving and who made the highest sales. and all this information needed to be sent to our corporate.
