Apply technical and functional expertise to provide support to the High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP), Defense Research and Engineering Network (DREN), Secure Defense Research and Engineering Network (SDREN) and Computer Network Defense Service Provider (CNDSP) customer base. Assist HPCMP CNDSP subscribers with Pre Comprehensive Security Assessment (CSA) inspection of the SDREN connected equipment and entire SDREN SOC. Maintain knowledge of applicable CND policies, regulations, and compliance documents specifically related to CND auditing. Maintain knowledge of latest Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) to ensure subscribers are remediating against known threats. Assist subscribers with vulnerability remediation as necessary. Collaborate with counterpart CND organizations and Security Operations Centers (SOC) on possible threats and exchange analysis or other information on suspicious activity. Conduct trends and correlation of monthly results to detect low-visibility vulnerabilities impacting the network. Provide documentation for policies and procedures for the use of vulnerability assessment tools. Test and evaluate new technologies, specifically related to network vulnerability scanning. Provide support to Vulnerability Assessment Support (VAS) morning shift as necessary.

Document all issues discovered during the assessment and provide a synopsis of the site's CCRI Preparedness posture, along with associated feedback, upon close of the week. Prepare detailed monthly scan reports for 209 SIPR subscribers to assess technical configurations and compliance.Provide documentation for policies and procedures for the use of vulnerability assessment tools. Test and evaluate new technologies, specifically related to network vulnerability scanning. Provide support to Vulnerability Assessment Support (VAS) morning shift as necessary.

Review Security Test and Evaluations (ST&E) protocols using manual DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide’s (STIG), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) tool, Platinum Gold Disk and Retina scanning tools to identify the system proposed posture while applying DISA STIGs.Provide mitigating security measures to avoid and recover from potential security threats to the network enterprise.
