Water Supply & Treatment

 Responsible for financial and administrative activities for Water Supply and Treatment Division which has a budget of over $30 million. Coordinates assignments and information for the City Manager’s Office. Supervises various staff involved in the delivery of internal and external services. Directs staff in general accounting functions and preparation of reports. Interviews, hires and trains employees. Plan, assign and direct work for employees. Confers with staff on personnel, financial and contractual matters to ensure compliance. Works with Division Manager – process and resolve labor/management and personnel issues; attend related hearings and meetings. Performs various disciplinary tasks and conducts investigations for potential discipline issues. Mentors other supervisors in the City organization.

Manage the employee safety program, which includes recommending policies, practices and procedures for loss prevention, methods to minimize liability and job related injuries, manage safety risks and promote overall safety awareness. Plans, coordinates and conducts safety training. Conducts periodic safety inspections, analysis and audits. Identifies potential loss exposure and recommends applicable practices and procedures. Prepares draft policies and procedures for loss prevention, liability reduction, risk management and compliance with safety laws and regulations. Prepares, maintains and evaluates safety and training records.

Research legal information through various sources including Internet, Westlaw, etc. Prepare subpoenas, legal pleadings, pretrial materials and discovery documents. Work closely as a team member with attorneys to complete their work. Work closely with director and managers on budget issues to efficiently meet the needs of the department.

Managed safety program for a combat communications squadron and reported directly to the Commander.Conducted studies and maintained data to prevent future accidents or injuries. Conducted safety training for Air Force personnel.
